Black screen or crash before play
Start with the settings the developer names, one change at a time.
- Check your PC against the current Steam minimum and recommended requirements, then update the graphics driver.
- Try the developer’s DX11/DX12 switch. At the login screen, turn off DLSS or Frame Generation, or change anti-aliasing if the black screen persists.
- Restart after each change and note which setting was changed. If the game still crashes, submit the log and the exact stage of failure through official support.
Done when: The game reaches the login or world screen consistently; otherwise your support report includes the failing stage and attempted settings.
Steam controller or Steam Deck issue
The official PC controller fix and the Steam Deck workaround are not the same setting.
- For a controller not responding on Steam PC, open the Aniimo Steam Library page, Manage, Properties, Controller, select “Disable Steam Input,” then restart the game.
- For a Steam Deck crash, the developer says full Deck compatibility is still being worked on. Its community-sourced workaround is Steam Library, Aniimo, Properties, Compatibility, force Proton 10.0.0-4.
- If the workaround fails, undo that single change and report device model, SteamOS/Proton version, and crash point. Do not describe the Deck workaround as official compatibility certification.
Done when: Input or launch is repeatable after a restart, or the failure is documented for support.
Update prompt or network error
First verify the patch state instead of reinstalling the whole game.
- If Steam shows no available update while Aniimo asks for one, the developer says this prompt need not block play. Restart Steam and the game, then test again.
- For network error 107 while teleporting, the developer says it was fixed in patch 1.0.3551601.0. Confirm your client is on that version or newer before troubleshooting the network.
- For persistent reconnecting, keep the exact error, time, region, and log. The developer acknowledged launch-day instability; do not claim a local settings change is a guaranteed server-side fix.
Done when: You can enter and teleport without the error; otherwise you can report a precise version and symptom.
Send a useful bug report
An actionable report is the end of the route when a reproducible fix is not known.
- Open the in-game Support menu or press F10; the developer also lists aniimo_support@aniimo.com.
- On Windows, the pinned FAQ points to the Aniimo Player.log and previous log under the user’s AppData/LocalLow/Aniimo/Aniimo directory. Show hidden folders if needed.
- Send the platform, region, game version, exact error, reproduction steps, and log privately. Do not post account credentials or private log contents in public comments.
Done when: Support has a reproducible case rather than only “it does not work.”
